To me hydragenas hortensis (german HORTENSIEN) are one of the most beautiful flowers, they come in all kinds of colors from blue over purple to dusty pink.
I love their flowering and that there are so many colors.
The hydragena come originally from japan and has been cultivated there for several centuries in the late 18th century the hortensis came to europe but it has not been very popular until the late 19th and 20th century.
Originally they were breeded for the garden but I guess you can also keep them in flowerpots as long as it is not too sunny and they get enough water.
Hortensis are not really made for our winter, some of the types do not survive the cold tempratures.
Nxt spring Im gonna buy some of em and put em on my window ledge
